Dualtech Training Center conducts orientation for students and parents in Coron, Palawan

As part of its ongoing commitment to providing technical education and career opportunities for the youth of Palawan, Dualtech Training Center conducted a series of orientations for students and their parents in several barangays in Coron, including Brgy. Borac, Brgy. Poblacion 1, and Brgy. Poblacion 5.This community engagement initiative was spearheaded by Mr. Laudynel V. Salta, a Dualtech volunteer, in close coordination with the Local Government Units (LGUs) of the three barangays. The orientations aimed to introduce the Dualtech Electromechanics Technology Program to interested students and their families.During the orientation in Brgy. Poblacion 1, Mr. Mateo Catubig, father of a Dualtech scholar, shared an inspiring story about his son, Mr. Jeffrey D. Catubig, who is currently undergoing On-the-Job Training (OJT) at Yamaha Motors Philippines, Inc. in Batangas. His testimony encouraged both parents and students, showing that dedication and perseverance can open to career opportunities.Motivated by the program’s impact, barangay leaders expressed their willingness to extend financial assistance—within their capacity—to help other deserving students pursue opportunities through Dualtech’s program. Their support highlights a strong commitment to investing in the future of the youth in Coron.

A highlight of the program was the sharing of testimonies from parents of current Dualtech students in the community, whose sons are now undergoing on-the-job training with partner companies.

Barangay Kagawad Hon. Vicky G. Erlano also shared a personal story about her brother, a current Dualtech trainee deployed at Century Pacific Food, Inc. as a technician. Despite the challenges of living away from home, he has shown resilience and diligence. His commitment was recognized when he received the “Huwarang Manggagawa Award,” an honor given to trainees with perfect attendance and outstanding dedication during in-plant training.

Through initiatives like this, Dualtech continues to reach out to more youth and families, opening pathways to education, skills development, and career opportunities.
