Alumni Relations Office hosts Learning Sessions for Dualtech Graduates

Last September – October, 2021 the Dualtech Alumni Relations Office conducted a series of live online technical seminars for the skills and knowledge enhancement of Dualtech graduates.

In line with Dualtech’s 39^th anniversary celebration in 2021, a series of three technical webinars were hosted by the Dualtech Alumni Relations office, facilitated by Mr. Rommel Tejada and Mr. Rey Pilar and attended to by hundreds of Dualtech Alumni. The webinar speakers are Dualtech alumni and professionals in their own field.

The first webinar was conducted last September 11, 2021 entitled “Ano ang Armas mo at Panangga mo sa Pandemyang ito?” The guest speaker was Engr. Brian Palmado, a Dualtech alumnus (2001), mechanical engineer, an accredited health and occupational safety consultant, certified in all aspects of hazard, health and safety and currently the manager for environmental, health and safety management system at Conception Business Services, among others.

The webinar focused on the physical and mental protection of technical working professionals during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the types or variants of the SARS-CoV2 virus, how it affects our vaccine programs, and government guidelines to assure safety in compliance with IATF standards. Engr. Palmado shared in detail all there is for everyone to understand regarding the right information on the pandemic. He also emphasized that the right information help us relieve our anxieties amidst all the fake news circulating.

The second webinar was held during Dualtech’s 39^th anniversary on October 2, 2021 entitled, “Learn PLC like ABC.” The guest speaker was Engr. Jerry Sabacajan, a Dualtech alumnus (1998), an electrical engineer, thermal energy consultant, and founder/CEO of SABPPTECH Services Inc.

This webinar talked about the fundamentals of PLC + SCADA which covered introduction to automation, basic logic function, ladder diagram, SCADA overview and actual programming demonstration. Engr. Sabacajan made sure that his webinar became interactive through questions coming from those who attended.

The third in the series was entitled, A forum on Logistics System; “We can’t do away with it in the modern times.” The guest speaker was Mr. Francis Castillo, Dualtech alumnus, and assistant manager of Fujitrans Logistics Philippines Inc.

This webinar was geared towards defining logistics, its process, and highlighting its importance in modern times, and how it is related to the technical, skills and values imparted by Dualtech to its graduates. Mr. Castillo presented the system on how his company handles total logistics service in the Philippines.

Mr. Rommel Tejada, Dualtech’s Sponsorship and Alumni Relations Manager, hopes that more alumni, like the guest speakers from these webinars, may share their professional knowledge to further enhance and empower the alumni, especially those who are fresh graduates to be more equipped with the right knowledge, skills and attitude for their professional and personal growth.
