Success through Struggles

“Work and study hard, be diligent in your work even though no one sees it. Also do anything you do in the grace of God, because nothing is impossible when you believe.”, this quote came from Romblon-native Edmund Falcon, a Lao Foundation, Inc. scholar.
Edmund is one among the LFI scholars trained in Oleofats Incorporated. After finishing their 2-year Electromechanics Technology at Dualtech Training Center, Inc, they can qualify in getting employed in the D&L Group. Edmund was a product of the pre-education to pre-employment program that prepares scholars with relevant skills, values, and actual work experience.
When COVID-19 pandemic started, Falcon adjusted to the sudden transition from face-to-face (F2F) instruction to blended learning. During his stay at their rented space, he was burdened with the negative thoughts related to finances as well as fear due to the restrictions caused by COVID-19. He found hope through Dualtech students and some front liners who would visit their premises, delivered meals for their daily sustenance, and even continued the basic training with the training kits improvised by the learning group.
“All the teachings I received from Dualtech were valuable to becoming resilient, to persevere, and to become a technician one day”, he said.
Edmund received two awards – Outstanding In-School Performance award and Bronze Merit award.
