Dualtech Center meets scholars and Industry Partners in Zamboanga Peninsula

In a continued effort to empower youth and strengthen local industries, Dualtech Center, in partnership with the Orani Suhay Foundation, visited Zamboanga del Norte to introduce scholarship opportunities and explore training collaborations in the region. The visit aimed to connect with Senior High School (SHS) and Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners, provide career guidance, and respond to the growing demand for technically skilled workers.Through the Orani Suhay Foundation, Inc. (OSF), Dualtech Center visited Guban Zamboanga Del Norte to meet SHS and ALS learners and educators regarding the scholarship program in Electromechanics Technology. The team also visited palm oil and rubber processing plants which are currently in need of technical manpower who are competent in electrical and machining skills. They also expressed interest to get scholars as trainees to address their need for skilled technicians.OSF’s scholarships will allow SHS and ALS learners in the area to have diverse career opportunities, and at the same time, help contribute to industries in the region. Dualtech representatives met with students in Guban, Sirawai, Zamboanga del Norte, to provide career guidance and share information about scholarship opportunities.The team then visited Dacon High School in Guban, to conduct a career talk, introducing the Electromechanics Technology program and available scholarships for interested students. Mr. Ryan Sarino, Senior High School (SHS) Coordinator, welcomed the team and gathered graduating Senior High School students for the session. Many students expressed interest in training at Dualtech after learning about the Orani Suhay Foundation scholarship and the opportunity for hands-on experience at DMCI companies, similar to the first batch deployed to Zenith Mobility. Mr. Sarino also accompanied the Dualtech team on a home visit, engaging with the families of the scholars to provide updates on the training program.The Dualtech team presented a video message from the second batch of scholars, who shared their experiences at Dualtech and expressed their gratitude to the Orani Suhay Foundation for its scholarship support. Currently, Orani Suhay Foundation supports 10 scholars, the first batch of six is undergoing on-the-job training (OJT) at Zenith Mobility, while the remaining four are set to begin their OJT at DMC CERI.

The team also visited the TESDA Regional Training Center in Zamboanga City to explore partnership opportunities. With plans to expand its on-the-job training (OJT) programs and other initiatives in the Zamboanga Peninsula, Dualtech aims to collaborate closely with local training institutions to strengthen industry-based learning. During the visit, the team toured the facility and observed the short courses being conducted in the center. This visit represents further progress in strengthening partnerships that promote both skills training and values education.The team continued the visit to Mega Global Corporation to discuss a collaboration on training programs for their Zamboanga and Batangas plants. The meeting focused on how Dualtech can support Mega Global in strengthening its workforce by providing training in foundational skills, work values, and technical expertise. One of the key areas identified was the need for specialized training for Mega Global’s sea-based employees, ensuring they develop both the technical and behavioral skills required for their roles.

The team’s final visit was to the Century Pacific Sardines plant to discuss the On-the-Job Training (OJT) component of the Electromechanics Technology program, aimed at helping meet the company’s workforce needs.

This shared initiative among TESDA, the Orani Suhay Foundation, industry partners, and Dualtech marks a significant step forward in building a future-ready workforce—one that combines technical expertise with values formation, empowering youth and uplifting communities across the region.
