Dualtech and Ibiden Philippines came together to inspire and support aspiring scholars through career orientations and CSR initiatives in their visit to Negros Occidental. With the support of the Buglas Foundation and the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental through the Negrense Dualtech Scholarship Program, the event brought future scholars and their families together, highlighting the opportunities available to the youth in the province.

In a visit to La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, Dualtech and Ibiden held a career orientation for the scholars and met with the families of scholars.

Ibiden Philippines, a leading manufacturer of IC Packages, shared their company profile and the CSR activities of the Labor Management Cooperation. Mr. Kenneth Malaqui, HR Manager, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing job opportunities and invited more scholars to enroll at Dualtech. Mr. Malaqui highlighted the success of their current trainees from Negros Occidental.

Hon. Rex R. Jalando-On, MD MPM, the City Mayor, expressed his gratitude and support for the scholarship program and dedicated program coordinator to maximize the benefits for future scholars.

The team then visited the picturesque municipality of Don Salvador Benedicto for a career orientation and a courtesy visit with Mayor Laurence Marxlen J. Dela Cruz.

During the meeting, Dualtech and Ibiden shared the success story of Christian Mahinay, a member of the Ata Tribe from Don Salvador Benedicto, who is currently the top-performing trainee at Ibiden Philippines. Mayor Dela Cruz expressed his gratitude to the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental, Dualtech, Buglas Foundation, and Ibiden for their support of scholars from the municipality. He reaffirmed his commitment to continuing educational initiatives that benefit the local community, particularly its youth.

The visit also included a career orientation and a meeting with the scholars’ parents. Christian Mahinay’s mother, Erlinda, attended the meeting and inquired about her son’s progress. Rechelle Rosas, a trainer at Ibiden Philippines, provided an update on Christian’s performance, praising his positive attitude and dedication. She also delivered a letter and a cellphone, a gift from Christian, to his mother. Further demonstrating their commitment to education, Ibiden donated five laptops to the teachers of the Alternative Learning System (ALS) in Don Salvador Benedicto. After the donation, the team toured the Learning Center, where classes are held for ALS students. The center also employs mobile teachers who travel to remote areas to ensure that education reaches even the most isolated learners. The laptops provided by Ibiden will be essential tools in enhancing the educational experience for these students.

Continuing their commitment to uplifting the youth, Dualtech Center, Ibiden Philippines, and Buglas Foundation brought their partnership to Sipalay City, to deliver career talks and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The event was held at the Conference Hall of the New Government Center, gathered barangay officials, Sangguniang Kabataan officers, representatives from the Schools Division Office, and parents.

The Schools Division Office of Sipalay City received five laptops from Ibiden Philippines. These laptops are intended to be handed over to a selected school within the Schools Division of Sipalay City. Ms. Princess Sanchez, a representative from Ibiden, emphasized the company’s commitment to CSR, which included the donation of laptops to teachers.

Ms. Rechelle Ann Rosas shared a heartwarming video of a Dualtech scholar celebrating his birthday at Ibiden, which moved the audience to tears. Letters from other scholars to their parents were also shared, one trainee even gave cash to help his siblings get school supplies.

In recognition of Sipalay City’s contribution and with the city now having the highest number of scholars under the Negrense Dualtech Scholarship Program, Dualtech presented a coffee table book to Mayor Gina Lizares. Mayor Lizares expressed her gratitude for the program, emphasizing its potential to benefit not only the city but the entire country. “I would like to thank all the people involved in this undertaking. This scholarship program is going to help our community, our city, and eventually the whole country because the program is very doable, practical, and effective.” Mayor Lizares said.

Ms. Karen Dinsay, announced plans to send 50 scholars this September. She lauded Dualtech for its holistic approach to education, which includes spiritual development, and thanked Ibiden for its support and care for the Negrense scholars.

The team continued their efforts even in the remote areas of barangay Camindangan, Dualtech, Ibiden, and Buglas Foundation made sure to extend their reach. Despite Sipalay City being known for having the highest number of scholars from the province, it was noted that no scholars currently come from this remote barangay. This initiative was coordinated with the Sipalay City LGU, as well as several members of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and barangay officials from Brgy. Camindangan.

The visit provided career guidance to local youth and to introduce the scholarship program for the 2-year Electromechanics Technology Program under the Negrense Dualtech Scholarship Program. The team was joined by Ms. Karen Dinsay, Head of the Scholarship Program Division, who spoke about the program’s benefits and shared success stories from previous batches in Sipalay City.

Mr. Alinor Mamasao, a representative from Ibiden Philippines, was also invited to address the scholars. He emphasized the importance of education, personal dreams, and family motivation. “Let’s do this not just for our own dreams but also to help our families. Let them be our inspiration,” he said. He highlighted the significance of recognizing the sacrifices made by our parents and using them as a driving force to succeed.

This outreach effort reflects the commitment to supporting communities, ensuring that even the most remote areas have access to career opportunities.

The final stop was Candoni, Negros Occidental, where the team paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Ray R. Ruiz of Candoni, Negros Occidental to present the Dual Training and Negrense Dualtech Scholarship Program to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Candoni. The visit aimed to encourage the nomination of local candidates for the scholarship.
