Dualtech Engages with Industry and Technology Leaders in Kaohsiung, Taiwan

Dualtech Training Center expanded its international engagement through visits and participation in key industrial and technology events in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Through collaboration with various organizations, Dualtech explored opportunities to expand technical education linkages, understand industry needs, and prepare Filipino learners for emerging global employment trends.Dualtech, through UP CPED and Edu-Connect Southeast Asia Association, visited companies in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The delegates toured the Linhai Industrial Park, one of Taiwan’s major industrial zones located in Kaohsiung. The park hosts a wide range of heavy and light industries, including steel manufacturing, petrochemicals, machinery, and electronics. The visit was joined by representatives from PEZA, MECO, and PTIC to explore potential collaboration with Philippine-based institutions such as Dualtech Training Center.

There is a high demand for skilled manpower across various sectors. Companies in Kaohsiung are in need of technicians with competencies in electrical, mechanical, and electronics fields to support operations, maintenance, and automation systems. This presents opportunities for graduates of Electromechanics Technology programs to work in these industries.The delegates also visited Green Environment Engineering, Inc., a company specializing in environmental management solutions, including waste treatment, pollution control, and sustainable engineering services. The visit provided insights into the technical manpower requirements in Taiwan and highlighted potential employment opportunities for Dualtech scholars in the international labor market.During the visit, delegates participated in a learning session on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Smart City Development, where they observed Kaohsiung’s AI-optimized traffic management integrated with big data analytics. This provided insights into how smart city governance frameworks improve urban mobility and emergency response while advancing safer, more sustainable cities.

Delegates attended a session on Citizen Complaint Management and Policy Cycle Governance, which detailed Kaohsiung’s transition to a customer-centric public service model. The briefing highlighted how real-time citizen feedback informs inter-agency coordination and improves policy responsiveness in urban governance.  Dualtech team also participated in the Smart City Summit & Expo 2026, held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

The Smart City Summit & Expo is one of Asia’s leading platforms that brings together government leaders, industry partners, technology innovators, and education institutions to showcase smart solutions in urban development, digital transformation, and sustainable industries. Kaohsiung, as a host city, is recognized for its advanced smart city initiatives, particularly in digital governance, green technology, intelligent transport systems, and industry innovation ecosystems

Dualtech Training Center’s participation in the summit focused on exploring global trends in smart manufacturing, workforce digitalization, and Industry 4.0 skills requirements.Through its engagement with the Bayanihan Lab Network and international partners, Dualtech observed emerging technologies, particularly those relevant to preparing learners for highly digitalized and automated work environments.

The summit provided opportunities to strengthen linkages with global industry players. Dualtech’s participation in the Smart City Summit & Expo 2026 reaffirmed its role in advancing innovative technical education and building pathways between training, industry, and future-ready employment opportunities for Filipino youth.
