Industry partner Ibiden Philippines receives its accreditation certificate to train it’s first batch of dualtech trainees

“We are very much aligned, your values very much resonates with us. We value ethics, and more than skill is ‘Virtue and Work,’ yun yung nakatatak daw [that one really left an impression], that is very good and favorable according to the management team.”

Ibiden Philippines is finally an official dual training system partner of Dualtech. With the above remarks, Ibiden Philippines, Inc. EO Atty. Racquel Ros expressed the company’s appreciation of a partnership with Dualtech through their new DTS certification, and that the partnership will truly sustain all stakeholders for the long run.

Dualtech Center presented to the company its Dual Training System accreditation certificate in a ceremony last September 12. Mr. Kosei Koba, Ibiden President, thanked Dualtech for the partnership and for providing extra workforce and support to Ibiden. An Executive Officer, Mr. Joey De Torres, presented the company profile of Ibiden.

Atty. Ros summed up the sentiments of Ibiden as she ended her remarks: “We love what we’ve been hearing about your organization and the other partners you have. We are inspired to hear the wonderful and meaningful story of your trainees… We value ethics, and more than skill is “Virtue and Work”… Thank you very much for this partnership that will really sustain our business. In the long haul, we hope to employ more Filipinos who deserve to be given better lives by Ibiden. ”

During the event, the first batch of Dualtech trainees that will be assigned at Ibiden’s facilities were also presented. [Out of three siblings, I’m the only one so far to finish studies. I got a (tech-vocational) NCII which I thought will help me to find stable work. After many months, I found work in a restaurant as a staff, and there are many there who are IP (indigenous people) like me. Someone told me to find out more about studying in Dualtech. So I immediately took the opportunity to apply and keep pursuing my dream to be an engineer. Dualtech gave me; at 24 years of age already, a chance to study again.]”

Another trainee present at the ceremony was Jobert Gelena from Oriental Mindoro. He also had to prioritize working and had to skip college once he turned 18. He explains his gratitude for being accepted into Dualtech and into Ibiden at 24 years of age: “Hindi naman ako nagkamali sa  expectation ko kasi hindi lang skills ang tinuturo sa amin kundi yung values formation, tinuturuan din kami magpakatao, paano maging responsible, to be kind to others, to serve others, and syempre to know and love God. Salamat po sa opportunity na to Dualtech and also Ibiden. Alam ko po madami pa ako matututunan na skills and knowledge dito sa Ibiden [I’m happy because I didn’t expect anything less, since we not only learn skills here but values formation as well. We learn how to be responsible, to be kind, to serve others, and of course to know and love God. Thank you so much Dualtech and Ibiden for this opportunity. I know I will still learn more skills and obtain knowledge here at Ibiden].”

After the presentation, school President and Executive Director Engr. Jerry Webb E. Muhi gave a message, challenging the first batch of trainees to set the standards, always do their best, and make Ibiden proud: “We can never claim that these boys are already in their top form; but we have given them the fundamentals, the chassis, which you can build [upon], and that’s the beauty of our training. We are not just building on the skills but we are building on the character of these boys who hopefully would be able to join your team as Ibiden Philippines. Our school is very much a part of you, you can always go to the school, give us feedback if needed and maybe try to see how we can improve and enhance.”

As part of the collaboration, Ibiden and Dualtech shall also partner in doing CSR activities in identified communities of Dualtech.
