Go, Grow, and Glow
(The Healthy Philippine Economy)
In a get-together with Friends of Dualtech, last May 18, Dr. Villegas, gave his forecast for the country in the coming five years. One of the ways to describe the country’s economy is to compare it to the nutrition a body needs to be healthy.
Go! There is no stopping the Philippines in becoming a tiger economy. Or as Dr. Bernardo Villegas now refers to as EAGLE (Emerging And Growth Leading Economy).
Grow. The country will continue to grow its economy at a high and steady pace. Reasons for growth are the Private and Public Partnership (PPP) will be in place; Tourism; ASEAN Economic Community and Economic Zones. Once set, the PPP will pour in a lot of money into the economy. “Places never heard of before like Coron, Bohol, etc are new destinations for tourist.” Dr. Villegas explained. “Bed and Breakfast lodgings are the only necessities for the tourist” Villegas added. Because of the “efficiency and effectiveness” of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), more and more foreign companies will relocate in the country. The AEC will open a lot of opportunities for business to Filipinos.
Glow. The Philippines will out shine its neighboring countries. Whoever the next President will be cannot stop the gains made be previous administrations. A corrupt and dishonest president will not be stupid enough to erase yields of AEC, PPP, tourism, etc. Growth will continue at 6% to 7% “If the President is honest then, economic growth will even be higher than expected.” Villegas says. “GDP may even reach 7% to 8%” Villegas predicts. A determined, honest and competent leader will always be preferred. Our skilled manpower will help the country shine brighter. From Electromechanics graduates of Dualtech to English speaking call center agents. From hospitable tourism graduates to El Gamma Penumbra on entertainment. Filipinos will be in demand in the AEC and all over the world.
