Epson Precision Philippines provides Scholarship and Training Opportunities to Learners in Catigbian, Bohol
Dualtech Center and EPSON Precision Philippines visited Catigbian, Bohol to provide scholarships and training opportunities to local students. With the support of DepEd Catigbian and the local government, students now have the chance to continue their education and pursue broader career opportunities through Dualtech Center.
The team made a courtesy visit to Catigbian Mayor Elizabeth Mandin. During the visit, Mayor Mandin pledged to sponsor the transportation expenses of scholars from Catigbian. She expressed her gratitude for the opportunities being offered to students in the municipality and recalled her visit to Dualtech Center, where she witnessed the hands-on training and values-based education provided to students.
The team then conducted scholarship screenings for prospective scholars. In addition to the exam and interview process, Dualtech representatives conducted a career talk to inform students and educators about the Electromechanics Technology course. Once enrolled at Dualtech, the scholars will be formally presented to EPSON in Batangas for the awarding of scholarship certificates. EPSON has committed to accepting the scholars as on-the-job trainees (OJTs) and offering them employment upon completion of the program.
During the event, Mr. Rodolfo “Dong” Briones, Epson’s General Administration and Assistant General Manager, explained that the main objective is to help improve the lives of scholars through education and training. Epson also expressed interest in documenting the scholars’ journey—from recruitment to training, OJT, and eventual employment. The company is open to sponsoring another batch of scholars, depending on the success of the initial group. Epson representatives have also indicated their willingness to return to Catigbian to monitor the progress and community impact of the scholarship initiative.
This partnership highlights the commitment of Epson and Dualtech Center to providing education-to-employment opportunities for the youth of Bohol.
