Dualtech roadshow in Negros gain 35 scholar-grantees

With the help of the Negros Occidental Scholarship Program (NOSP), headed by Ms. Karen Dinsay, and the Buglas Foundation, Dualtech officials visited several LGUs in Negros Occidental to have a courtesy visit with the mayors and promote the Negrense Dualtech Scholarship Program for its 2-year Electromechanics Technology.

Among the highlights of the trip were the team’s visits to Sipalay, Hinoba-an, and La Carlota for courtesy visits with LGU officials. In Sipalay City, Mayor Gina Lizares expressed her interest to give financial support to deserving underprivileged students and out-of-school youth. Mayor Rex Jalando-on of La Carlota City agreed that the dual-training-system is an innovative program for their youth to have work and help their families.

A Memorandum of Agreement with the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental at the Provincial Capitol was signed for the 35 scholarship-grantees.  These scholars will study Electromechanics Technology Course from the Dualtech Training Center Foundation, Inc. in Calamba, Laguna for two years, sponsored by the Provincial Government. Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz represented Governor Bong Lacson at the MOA signing, and Dualtech Training Center was represented by Jerry Webb Muhi. Dualtech Community Relations Manager, Rodolfo Sta. Ana III conducted an orientation about Dualtech Training Center to the audience after the MOA Signing.

Another important marketing event during the trip was the team’s orientation for various Barangay Officials, DepEd Officials, parents, and youths to promote the Negrense Dualtech Scholarship Program. Present at one Sipalay City orientation were two Dualtech graduates from the city who shared their testimonials. Jerson Pillones talked about being stably employed in the company where he did his in-plant training. Choniel Palasuelo explained Dualtech’s various support for the trainees at the height of the pandemic. The team also had another orientation in La Carlota City to meet more interested applicants, government officials and employees, academic institutions, and representatives from different barangays.

That same week, Mr. Sta. Ana had the opportunity to guest on Radio Alagad 100.5 FM in Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental, to promote the program of Dualtech.

Among the cities which Dualtech has regular contact with, Sipalay City is notable for endorsing 40% of the students supported by the Negros Occidental Scholarship Program (NOSP) and sent to Dualtech Center. Mr. Joan Sayson, a teacher in charge at Maricalum Farm School in Sipalay City, is one active supporter of the program in the area.
