Dualtech recognizes Partner Foundations in Sponsors’ Day

At the height of the pandemic, these foundations stepped in and stepped up assistance to Dualtech.
As part of Dualtech’s 40th anniversary commemoration, 5 charitable foundations were honored for their support to Dualtech. These foundations were among the steadfast of sponsors during the onslaught of the pandemic in 2020. The Angelicum Charitable Foundation, Inc., Consuelo “Chito” Madrigal Foundation, Inc., GT Foundation, Inc., Lao Foundation, Inc. and, Ortoll and Zaragoza Family were given Plaques of Appreciation.
They “stuck with Dualtech” Mr. Arnolfo Morfe mentioned in his opening remarks. This is the “criteria” needed to make it to the roster of foundations for this group of awardees”. Mr. Morfe added.
For a number of years, Dualtech has recognized the partnership with companies where the scholars fulfill their in-plant training program. When the health crisis started these companies started returning students. Dualtech was left in a quandary. Dualtech could not send the students home to the provinces. Dualtech had to sustain the boys stranded in their respective dormitories. The foundations stepped in and stepped up its assistance to Dualtech.
Because of the generosity of these foundations, the scholars stayed, safe and were able to continue with their studies. A good number of the scholars have graduated and are now gainfully employed. Had it not been for the generous outpouring of support of these foundations, Dualtech would have had a tough time keeping the school afloat.
In the open forum, “collaboration” and “culture building” were buzzwords. Collaboration among the stakeholders (schools, foundations, industry) helped address poverty alleviation. Culture is needed in work and education to positively impact the environment.
In closing, Mr. Jerry Webb Muhi, Dualtech Executive Director, narrated his experience in his provincial visits to Antique, Iloilo and Negros. He observed how much help the countryside needed in terms of education, health and livelihood. He received requests from LGUs in those places to expand services beyond the existing reach of the school. He made an appeal to the foundations to include the countryside in their assistance programs.
