Dualtech Center reaches out to more senior high schools in Sibuyan Island, Romblon

From July 5 to 6, 2023, Dualtech visited various public schools and local officials in Romblon’s Sibuyan Island to promote the 2-year Electromechanics Technology Course.

The school was able to plan in advance the schedule for the visits with the help of local resident Engr. Edgar Mayor. He has been helping Dualtech promote the program since 2016, and he knew Dualtech through his sister who is an HR officer at one of the partner companies of Dualtech Center. He was delighted to help the young people in the area because they have a high chance of being offered a stable job by many different companies. The province has around 100 plus students who are enrolled in Dualtech and around 60 more who have already graduated from the program.

On the first day of career talks, the Dualtech team and Engr. Mayor went to Cajidiocan National High School to conduct a career orientation for that school’s graduating Senior High School students. Ms. Rose Repizo, the Cajidiocan NHS principal, encouraged the senior high school graduating students, and she said that “This is the opportunity for young men to study at Dualtech Center”. She also shared that one of her former students, Mr. Ryan Male, is a Dualtech alumnus and already employed by one of the partner companies of Dualtech Center. Students from Cambalo NHS and Lumbang East NHS were also present in the orientation.

After the orientation, Ms. Rose Repizo requested that the Dualtech team to join the parent’s meeting in the afternoon to give an orientation about the Dualtech program. On the same day, the other team of Dualtech officials went to Espana NHS in San Fernando, Romblon, to conduct another set of orientation.

On the second day, the Dualtech team went to Magdiwang NHS, one of the biggest National High Schools in Sibuyan Island. Mr. Noel Machon, principal of Magdiwang NHS, and his assistant, Mr. Jomer Martinez, assisted Dualtech officials to present the Dualtech program. Mr. Eric Dela Cruz, the Admissions Coordinator of Dualtech Center, presented the 2-year Electromechanics Technology Course to the graduating students of Magdiwang NHS.

During the orientation, one of the parents of Dualtech graduates gave testimony on the improvement of the attitude of their son, who actively helps the family now. The son is now a regular employee in the mechanical engineering staff of one of the country’s big companies. “Tapos nang mabalitaan ko na dadating uli ang Dualtech Center dito sa Magdiwang hindi ako nag dalawang isip na i-apply din yung aking bunsong anak na lalaki. Kaya wag na kayong mag dalawang isip na pumasok sa Dualtech (When I heard Dualtech was returning [to Magdiwang], I didn’t hesitate to get my youngest son to apply for enrollment. So never think twice about enrolling at Dualtech),“ the mother said.

School Principal Mr. Machon gave a message to the graduating students, “We are passing in this world only once. So I guess this is the most appropriate time now to decide about your future, not only for your future but for the future of your family”.
