Community Relations draws Volunteerism and Charity Work

“I am happy that I was chosen by RMN Foundation among Henry R. Canoy scholars and also for this new tablet which will help me in my studies.”

– Sergio Base, 7th RMNF Henry R. Canoy Scholar

On September 28, 2022, DZXL Radyo Trabaho hosted by DJ Jenny Pahilanga invited for a live-on-air interview Dualtech’s Community Relations Manager Mr. Rodolfo “Okeek” Sta. Ana III; 7th Henry R. Canoy scholar, Sergio Base, from Albay; Bataan Community Relations Volunteer Ms. Rosemarie Papas; and RMNF Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Officer Mr. Patrick Aurelio.

In a live interview, Mr. Okeek Sta Ana III shared how he met Sergio Base in Polangui, Albay. Sergio, a son of a farmer and a sales lady, dreamt of pursuing an education degree after high school. Unfortunately, his father who supported his education passed on, which left him with his mother who earns a meager income for the family. In an encounter with Dualtech, Sergio sees another opportunity to study.

Meanwhile, Ms. Rose Papas from Mariveles, Bataan helps Dualtech to reach out to out-of-school youth in her place to be Dualtech scholars. This year, the first batch successfully completed the course and was absorbed by the sponsoring companies.

“Even in my senior years, I’m able to find purpose through helping others, especially those in my community in Bataan province. Instead of being by-standers after high school, we encourage these young men to dream and study with Dualtech’s 2-year Electromechanic Technology so they may have better opportunities in the future to help themselves and their families towards a brighter future. I think that is a very rewarding experience as a Community Relations Volunteer”, Ms. Papas, Bataan Community Relations Volunteer

Even during the height of the pandemic, Ms. Papas managed to send several batches of scholars to Dualtech. She sought assistance from the LGU for the transportation of Bataan scholars. She arranged meetings with the parents. She organized the communities in Bataan for better appreciation and support to the Dualtech programs.

“We would like to thank our volunteers, especially Ms. Rose Papas for helping us with finding students in different provinces. We train students in the 2-year Electromechanics Technology program, and some of them became scholars of RMN Foundation’s scholarships” Mr. Rodolfo Sta. Ana III, Manager for Community Relations.

Now that the seven (7) scholars were presented by Dualtech to RMN Foundation, both institutions look forward to doing more projects as Dualtech celebrates its 40th Founding Anniversary while RMNF is on its 10th Year.
