ABOITIZ FOUNDATION PROVIDES NEW SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR DUALTECH WITH MOA SIGNING

“WE HOPE TO UPLIFT MORE LIVES AND MAKE MORE DREAMS OF THE YOUTH HAPPEN”

This was part of the inspirational message delivered by Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. President and COO Ms. Maribeth L. Marasigan, during the MOA Signing of Aboitiz Foundation and Dualtech Training Center Foundation Inc.

The online event marked the Aboitiz Foundation’s generous pledge to support 28 new Dualtech Scholars for 2021-2022, as well as renewed academic and industrial partnerships with the Foundation, Dualtech, and the Aboitiz Group. The official documents were signed by the Foundation’s President Ms. Marasigan, and Dualtech Center President Mr. Arnolfo Morfe, and witnessed by representatives of both groups, as well as the pioneering batch of Aboitiz scholars. Additionally, graduating Aboitiz Scholar Mr. Pelagio Guanzon II was chosen to deliver a motivating testimony on behalf of his fellow graduates—giving an account of his academic journey and the milestones he was able to achieve with the help of Dualtech and Aboitiz Foundation.

The MOA signing comes at the advent of the graduation of Aboitiz Foundation’s pioneering batch of Dualtech scholars—20 individuals who took up Electromechanics Technology—who were introduced as the “best performing batch” by Dualtech President Mr. Morfe during the event. These scholars, who were first entrusted with support by Aboitiz in 2019, were able to brave the daunting challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic to be able to graduate on time this 2021.

Aboitiz Foundation also mentioned that four of the 20 scholars are graduating with awards, and that all of the scholars in the batch have either received offers of employment in various industries, or were directly hired by the companies where they had on-the-job training.
Mr. Morfe credits the success of this sponsorship to the scholars’ determination to pursue their dreams. “Kayo ay naging iskolar hindi lamang dahil sa kayo ay mahirap, kundi dahil sa kayo ay may pangarap. At ang inyong pangarap ay hindi lamang para sa sarili kundi para din sa bayan, sa lipunan, at ikakabuti ng lahat…”

Dualtech and Aboitiz Foundations share many values especially service and empowerment. Both groups expressed their eagerness to continue the partnership, and are hopeful that the new batch of scholars signed in the new MOA will yield the achievements of its pioneer.
