Aboitiz Foundation and Dualtech Center sign Agreement for 3rd Batch of Scholars

“As an Aboitiz scholar, I promised to be diligent with my studies during my stay here in Dualtech. The Aboitiz Foundation is very charitable in helping students like me, and Dualtech in turn helped me to build my confidence, develop skills, and get closer to God.”

– Gemmark Gaon, Aboitiz scholar Batch 2022

Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. is sponsoring eight (8) new Dualtech scholars this year. In a MOA signing with Dualtech Center, Aboitiz Foundation was represented by its President and Chief Operating Officer Maribeth L. Marasigan, Education Program Manager Ms. Jowelle Ann R. Cruz, and Supervising Project Officer for Education Programs and Communications Mr. Francis Cleo J. Monato.

“We at Aboitiz Foundation have been supporting both College and Technical-Vocational programs– Dualtech is one of those institutions where we extend our help since we believe in its advocacy. These Aboitiz scholars have very inspiring stories.” Ms. Maribeth L. Marasigan, Aboitiz Foundation President and Chief Operating Officer shared.

Aboitiz Foundation started awarding scholarship grants in 2019. Among the first beneficiaries were the earthquake victims in Bohol. In 2018, a 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck Bohol, particularly in Tagbilaran City and neighboring towns of Ubay, Alicia, Duero and Guindulman. It was from this event that Dualtech came to the province of Bohol and shared in the localities the opportunity of studying a 2-year Electromechanics Technology.

“We felt the damage of the earthquake and in time Dualtech came to reach out in our province and so I decided to travel to Laguna and get a technical qualification that promises an immediate job.” Mr. Winefredo Tac-an, Aboitiz Scholar Batch 2019

“Dualtech is glad to be able to meet the Aboitiz Foundation once again for these scholarships. We have been traveling to various places so we can recruit candidates from far flung areas not only in Luzon and Visayas, but also specifically in Mindanao too. Wine, who is an Aboitiz scholar, is one beneficiary of your project, and we appeal to you to continue extending this opportunity for many aspiring young men in the country.” Mr. Arnolfo S. Morfe, Dualtech President said.

Aboitiz Foundation sponsored a total of 56 Dualtech scholars. Inspired by the first batch that successfully completed the 2-Year Electromechanics Technology course, Aboitiz Foundation decided to continue to support more indigent scholars to be trained in Dualtech Center.
