Ride to Give Back

“We were given an opportunity to help our less fortunate neighbors here in the province of Rizal. Let us continue to donate what we can offer to others like how Dualtech helped us, so we can hopefully help more people in our local communities as Dualtech Alumni.” – Mr. Marvin Digol, President of Dualtech Alumni Riders’ Club
What is this drive that moves the hearts of these alumni even long before graduating from their alma mater?
The Dualtech Alumni Riders’ Club President Mr. Marvin Digol created a Facebook announcement inviting Dualtech alumni to join a fundraising event. Some donated items were used clothes, medicine, food packs, toiletries, among others which were given to beneficiaries in a community in Rizal.
On July 24, the Alumni Riders’ Club traveled to Dualtech in Canlubang to give the donation raised from the “first motorcycle rides for a cause”. The group attended the Holy Mass celebrated by Rev. Fr. Manuel Manggao, an alumnus of Dualtech.

In the homily, Rev. Fr. Manggao said “Although Dualtech Alumni Riders are composed of only a few men right now, what counts is that you are doing something worth giving effort and time for.”

The first stop was at Jala-jala, Rizal where the group took lunch at Mr. Dario Tolentino, Jr.’s place after a long ride from Laguna province. Amidst the nature and rural setting of the place, Dualtech Alumni Riders’ Club members gathered all of the donated items in preparation for the distribution to selected recipients in the local community of Jala-jala. After this, the group went to KM90 of Sta. Maria, Laguna where they took commemorative photos.
The Dualtech Riders’ Club is a group of Dualtech alumni that carries the spirit of giving. From pilgrimage then to community gift giving, the group is set to gather again with another ride for a cause for the benefit of Dualtech scholars.
