Career Guidance and CSR Activities Reach Remote Island Communities in Quezon
Creating opportunities and extending support to underserved communities remain important in helping the youth build better professional careers. Through partnerships and community outreach initiatives, Dualtech Training Center and Ibiden Philippines brought career guidance, educational support, and assistance closer to communities with limited access to such opportunities.
The team first visited the municipality of Jomalig for a career talk and corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity. Jomalig is a remote island municipality where fishing and farming remain the primary sources of livelihood for many residents.
The team was welcomed by Acting Mayor Dahlia Manalo, local government unit (LGU) officials, parents, and students from the community. Dualtech presented its program offerings and discussed career opportunities available through its network of more than 200 industry partners.
Hon. Manalo encouraged the parents and students to consider the programs offered by Dualtech and its industry partners. After her visit to Dualtech, she expressed confidence that the students would have promising career opportunities and would be safe and well-trained on campus. She also shared the success stories of the first batch of graduates from Jomalig who are now helping their families and establishing stable careers. Through the support of the LGU, the students will also be provided transportation assistance, rice allowance, and boarding house support.
Ibiden Philippines shared its company profile and highlighted the programs of its Labor-Management Cooperation (LMC), particularly the donation drive for ALS teachers. Ibiden also turned over laptops to the LGU and Jomalig National High School to support local government services and education.
NutriAsia, through Dualtech, also distributed products to the community, particularly to the parents of Dualtech scholars.
The team then visited the municipality of Patnanungan, Quezon, a coastal island municipality known for its fishing communities and coconut farming, which serve as the primary sources of livelihood for many residents.
The group visited Patnanungan National High School and Busdak National High School, where they were welcomed by school officials to present the career opportunities available through Dualtech and the training programs of Ibiden Philippines. Ibiden Philippines also turned over laptops to the school officials to support education initiatives in the area.
The visits to Jomalig and Patnanungan reflect the shared commitment of Dualtech Training Center, Ibiden Philippines, and NutriAsia to support communities through education, career development, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
