TESDA Region XII and Industry Leaders in SOCCSKSARGEN welcome Dualtech for EBET Program
In its continued efforts to strengthen industry-based training in the Philippines, Dualtech Center visited TESDA Region XII to explore ways to support the Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET) program. The visit aimed to build partnerships with TESDA and industry partners in SOCCSKSARGEN.
The team visited TESDA Sarangani-General (SarGen) to support the implementation of the EBET program. Dualtech representatives met with Provincial Director Alfredo V. Panuela, Jr. to discuss how to assist industry partners in General Santos City with EBET program registration and implementation.
The group then visited the TESDA Regional Training Center in Sarangani, Training Center in General Santos City, and the TESDA Provincial Training Center in Surallah, South Cotabato to explore collaboration opportunities for workforce development.
At the TESDA Training Center in General Santos City, the Dualtech team toured the demonstration farm and gained insights into TESDA’s hands-on approach to agricultural training. The engagement continued at the TESDA Provincial Training Center in Surallah, where discussions centered on potential partnerships. Dualtech shared its implementation of the Dual Training System (DTS) and its transition to the new Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET) program as a model for industry-driven education.
The visit continued at the TESDA SOCCSKSARGEN-Manpower Development Center (TSOX-MPDC) and included an on-site inspection of the construction site of the Regional TVET Innovation Center (RTIC).
Dualtech Center also paid a courtesy visit to the TESDA Regional Office in Region XII to discuss potential collaboration on the Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET) program with industry partners in the region.
The team was welcomed by ROD Chief Bienvenido L. Solano, Jr. and Ms. Chris Castino, TESDA Regional EBET Focal, who expressed their appreciation for Dualtech’s continued support in EBET initiatives.
The meeting focused on exploring strategic partnerships between Dualtech and TESDA to assist industry partners in transitioning from the Dual Training System (DTS) to the EBET framework. This collaboration aims to ensure the development of a highly skilled workforce and provide sustainable employment opportunities aligned with future industry needs.
The group, together with the TESDA Provincial Office, visited industry partners in General Santos City to discuss the EBET program—a new framework for student training. The team first visited the Honda Cars dealership, where representatives emphasized the urgent need for trainees specializing in body repair and paint services, reflecting the growing demand for skilled technicians in the automotive sector.
They also met with Century Pacific Agricultural Ventures Inc. (CPAVI) and Gentuna Corporation for discussions and a facility tour. The team received encouraging feedback from trainers on the performance of current Electromechanics Technology trainees.
The series of visits in Soccsksargen reflects Dualtech Center’s proactive approach to forging partnerships with both industry and government. By working closely with TESDA’s regional and provincial offices, Dualtech is helping create more accessible and responsive training opportunities under the EBET framework. These collaborations are essential in providing students with real-world experience while addressing the workforce needs of emerging and growing industries in Mindanao.
