TESDA DDG Villanueva: Live with Purpose, Integrity, and Heart
On July 5, 2025, Dualtech Center held its Commencement Exercises, where 105 work-trainees received their diplomas for the 2-year Electromechanics Technology course.
The ceremony was attended by industry partners and sponsors, including representatives from Ibiden Philippines, Licton Industrial Corporation, Seijutsu Electronics, Forgotten Places, Inc., and the Adamson University Cocofed Scholars Alumni Foundation, who witnessed the graduation of their trainees and scholars.
In a heartfelt speech during Dualtech Center’s commencement exercises, batch representative Deejay B. Notob shared a story that went far beyond technical training. His message wasn’t just about personal achievement—it was a tribute to the people and values that shaped his journey.
Speaking on behalf of his batch, he didn’t give the usual “thank you” speech. Instead, he offered what he called a love letter. Deejay also shared a project he started while learning automation and PLC programming. He noticed that many students found the topic challenging, so he proposed building a conveyor system to serve as a training board. At first, few believed in the idea. Still, he pushed through—gathering scrap materials, working late after class, and even extending his stay at school to finish it. Today, that same project has been improved and is now being used to train students in mechatronics and automation.
When Deejay began his On-the-Job Training (OJT) at Seijutsu Electronics, he was able to apply the technical skills he had learned at Dualtech. But more importantly, he gained valuable lessons from the people he worked with—professionals who trusted him, shared their knowledge, and inspired him.
He came to realize that learning doesn’t end in the classroom; it continues through every person you meet and every challenge you face. For Deejay, the most important lesson he learned at Dualtech was how to love—love for his friends, mentors, work, company, family, community, and even those who were difficult to love.
He ended with a simple but powerful reminder: “May this speech remind everyone to love.” Love your work. Love your friends. Love your family. Love God. And even love those who are difficult to love—because love moves us to build instead of break, to heal instead of hurt, to forgive instead of hold grudges, and to keep going even when the road gets tough. In the end, he said, it’s not success that defines us, but the love and meaning we leave behind.
Deputy Director General for TESD Operations Vidal D. Villanueva III delivered an inspiring message as the guest of honor and speaker during the commencement ceremony for the Electromechanics Technology graduates at Dualtech Center.
DDG Villanueva offered more than just a congratulatory message—he delivered a call to live with purpose, integrity, and heart. He began by honoring the parents, expressing deep gratitude for their sacrifices and reassuring them that their efforts were not in vain. “Your sons are now equipped not only with technical skills but also with strong values that will guide them throughout life,” he affirmed.
Addressing the graduates, DDG Villanueva urged them to reflect—not just on their achievements, but on the purpose behind their journey. He challenged them to look beyond personal ambition and consider how their knowledge and skills could be used in service to others. “Love your families. Serve your communities. Use what you’ve learned not just to succeed—but to uplift,” he said. He reminded them that intelligence alone is not enough. Without love and compassion, even the greatest knowledge loses its value. It is character, he emphasized, that defines a true professional.
He concluded his speech with a message that left a lasting impact: “Let love be your greatest asset. Serve with purpose, and live with values.”
During the ceremony, Dualtech also recognized its alumni who successfully passed the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) examination. Engr. Jerry Webb E. Muhi, Dualtech’s President and Executive Director, along with Engr. Romel T. Baccay, Alumni Relations Coordinator, recognized the following Alumni:
Registered Master Electricians:
- Marvin P. Cagas
- John Albert L. Bautiista
- Manuel R. Pandac
Dualtech alumnus and current learning facilitator, Ramil Jr. A. Lustre, led the oath-taking of the graduates as new members of the Dualtech Center Alumni Association.
