Samar, Leyte local government partners with Dualtech to uplift youth through skills training under Zero Extreme Poverty 2030

In an effort to support the youth of Arteche, Eastern Samar, representatives from Dualtech Center visited Mayor Boie Evardome to discuss the upcoming enrollment of scholars into the Dualtech program. This initiative provides educational and career development opportunities for the youth of Arteche.Aligned with ZEP 2030 (Zero Extreme Poverty 2030), this collaboration aims to reduce extreme poverty by creating educational and employment opportunities. It’s not just about individual success stories—this collaboration contributes to the long-term growth of the entire community. As part of the ZEP 2030 orientation in Arteche, Dualtech Center conducted a career talk and introduced its Electromechanics Technology course. Through this partnership, Arteche’s local government, Dualtech, Lao Foundation, and ZEP 2030 are working together to ensure that the community’s youth are well-prepared for careers, driving both personal and community-wide development.Dualtech representatives also visited GK Carmen in Hernani, Eastern Samar, to meet with the parents of Dualtech trainees. The parents spoke openly about their experiences, sharing the sacrifices they make to support their children’s education. Many parents described the financial challenges they face, explaining that some even borrow money to cover costs for transportation, food, and allowances so that their children can continue their studies at Dualtech. Despite these hardships, they hold onto the belief that education is the key to a better future.

When asked about their children’s progress, parents expressed gratitude. Their children had reassured them that they were doing well and managing their training at Dualtech, giving their parents the courage to endure the emotional and physical challenges of separation. These parents are holding on to the belief that all their sacrifices will eventually be rewarded as they invest in their children’s futures.One mother shared her story, saying, “You can’t break a child’s dream to study,” explaining how she borrowed money for transportation costs just so her son could enroll in Dualtech. This mother’s words echoed the commitment of many parents who are determined to support their children’s education, no matter the hurdles.In Laguna, Dualtech Training Center welcomed local government representatives and scholars from Arteche, Eastern Samar, who will be enrolling in the Electromechanics Technology course under the Zero Extreme Poverty 2030 (ZEP 2030) program.

During the visit, Dualtech representatives met with Arteche’s municipal officials to discuss how Dualtech’s educational programs align with the goals of the ZEP 2030 initiative, focusing on how education can help break the cycle of poverty and create new opportunities for the youth. With the support of Mayor Evardone, 21 scholars from Arteche pursued the Electromechanics Technology course in Dualtech. Mayor Evardone not only offered words of encouragement but also provided logistical assistance, ensuring these youths are well-supported and guided.

This collaboration between Dualtech Center and the local government of Arteche shows how communities and educational institutions can work together to uplift the youth. Through the ZEP 2030 program at Dualtech, scholars are equipped with technical skills, helping them secure employment and improve their lives.
