Education, Employment, and Empowerment: Dualtech and Ibiden’s CSR Outreach for Learners and Communities in Mindanao
Education becomes more meaningful when schools, government, and industry work together to open opportunities for the youth. With this mission in mind, Dualtech Training Center and Ibiden Philippines visited provinces in Mindanao, reaching out to learners, teachers, and communities through a series of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.Dualtech Training Center and Ibiden Philippines first visited Sta. Cruz Senior High School to meet with representatives from DepEd ALS and school officials. During the visit, the team conducted a career orientation for ALS learners and turned over laptops to ALS teachers.
Dualtech representatives introduced its Electromechanics Technology program, while Ibiden shared about its OJT program for Dualtech trainees at their company. DepEd ALS Davao del Sur organized the career orientation to share the opportunities available to learners who choose to pursue Dualtech’s program in partnership with its industry partners.
In support of ALS teachers, Ibiden Philippines led the turnover of laptops to aid in training delivery, recognizing that many teachers are mobile and must reach learners across the municipality.
The team continued the visit in Sarangani province, a coastal and agricultural province in the SOCCSKSARGEN region of Mindanao. The career orientation and CSR event was hosted by the TESDA SOCCSKSARGEN Manpower Development Center (TSOX-MPDC).TESDA invited ALS teachers and learners from the province to learn more about the program offerings of Dualtech and TESDA, particularly the Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET) program.
Dualtech presented its program and its industry-based training that leads to employment opportunities after graduation. Century Pacific Agriventures, an industry partner of Dualtech in General Santos City, also supported the event by donating Vita Coco products to participants.TESDA provided a tour of its training facility to showcase the skills programs available and to explore possible areas of collaboration with Dualtech. Officials from TESDA and DepEd expressed appreciation for Dualtech and its industry partners for extending support to the Alternative Learning System in Sarangani.
Ibiden Philippines highlighted its partnership with Dualtech, noting that it has already hired trainees who completed their in-plant training at the company. To further support education, Ibiden also turned over laptops to ALS teachers, helping enhance teaching delivery for learners in remote areas.
The group also reached communities in South Cotabato, where they extended their CSR activities to the municipality of T’boli.
South Cotabato, with its agriculture-based economy, welcomed the team. The community expressed their appreciation through a traditional dance, symbolizing the value they placed on the visit.
During the activity, Dualtech Training Center presented its program offerings, highlighting how its network of industry partners helps train and employ scholars. Ibiden Philippines also introduced its company profile and shared its Labor Management Cooperation initiatives related to CSR.
The visit inspired the youth by presenting career opportunities through Dualtech’s Electromechanics Technology program and the on-the-job training made possible by partner companies. In line with its commitment, Ibiden once again turned over laptops to ALS teachers in South Cotabato to support education delivery for learners in far-flung communities.
DepEd South Cotabato expressed its appreciation, emphasizing that the laptops would allow them to reach more learners and expand access to technology.
These initiatives across Davao del Sur, Sarangani, and South Cotabato highlight the continuing commitment of Dualtech, Ibiden Philippines, TESDA, and DepEd to empower communities. By bringing together education, industry partnerships, and CSR efforts, they are opening opportunities to lifelong learning, sustainable employment, and brighter futures for the youth in Mindanao.
