Dualtech’s first commencement of 2025: honoring hard work, perseverance, and dreams

Last January 25, 2025, Dualtech Center held its first Commencement Exercises for the year for 112 graduates of the Electromechanics Technology program. The ceremony was attended by guests, including officials from the Department of Education (DepEd) and the local government units (LGUs) of Anda and Tagbilaran City, Bohol, as well as DepEd officials from Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. Industry partners were also present, including representatives from Daiwa Seiko Philippines Corporation, HKR Equipment Corporation, W and J Lim Foundation, and Lao Foundation, Inc., who witnessed the graduation of their trainees and scholars. In his graduation speech, the batch representative Federick Rasing from Cabuyao City stood proudly on stage, representing his fellow graduates. Once dismissed as a hopeless youth and labeled a troublemaker in his hometown, Federick’s life had taken a remarkable turn. He credits his transformation to the support of his family and the opportunities provided by Dualtech Center.Federick shared his story with humility and gratitude. His father, taught him the value of diskarte (resourcefulness) in life. Federick admits he once believed this alone was enough. He neglected his studies, fell in with the wrong crowd, and dropped out before completing senior high school. Life seemed to spiral out of control, especially after his father passed away in 2020. But hope came knocking when his older brother introduced him to Dualtech. The journey wasn’t easy—balancing on-the-job training and classes while unlearning bad habits required discipline and persistence. Yet, Dualtech became more than a school; it was a place where he rediscovered purpose and built new dreams. As he led his fellow graduates in a cheer of gratitude, Federick left a powerful message: “Diskarte is your foundation, and a diploma is your key to the future. With both, you can conquer life’s battles.”The Honorable Mayor Angelina Simacio of Bohol graced the event through the representation of Dr. Danilo Aton, PhD, PSDS of Anda, Bohol, who delivered an inspiring commencement speech. Dr. Aton conveyed Mayor Simacio’s message to the graduates and all those present at the event.

Mayor Simacio’s speech began with an acknowledgment of the graduates’ hard work, dedication, and perseverance over the past two years. She highlighted that this event marked not only the end of an academic journey but also the beginning of a new chapter filled with promise and opportunity. She celebrated the graduates as living proof that dreams, coupled with determination and support, can become reality. Special mention was made of the 21 graduates from Bohol, including four from the Municipality of Anda, whose success serves as a source of pride for their communities.Mayor Simacio commended Dualtech Center Inc. for its innovative Training System, which bridges the gap between classroom learning and practical application. She noted that Dualtech’s emphasis on values, discipline, and technical skills equips its graduates to excel in the workplace. As the Municipal Mayor of Anda, she expressed her gratitude for the partnership between the municipality and Dualtech, which has provided young scholars with the opportunity to overcome financial and educational challenges. These students, she said, are now empowered to pursue careers in engineering and technical fields, breaking the cycle of poverty and becoming catalysts for change.

Addressing the graduates, Mayor Simacio urged them to carry the lessons they learned at Dualtech—hard work, integrity, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence—into the next phase of their lives. Whether they choose to enter the workforce, pursue further studies, or start their own ventures, she encouraged them to believe in their potential to achieve greatness.

She also reminded the graduates of their responsibility to give back to their communities, emphasizing that success is not solely about personal achievement but about making a positive impact on others. “You are now role models and ambassadors of hope,” she stated, encouraging them to inspire the next generation and contribute to the nation’s development. In her closing message, Mayor Simacio reminded the Class of 2025 that education is the greatest equalizer, unlocking opportunities and building a better tomorrow.
