Dualtech, Industry Partners Join the First Laguna Employment Summit

Dualtech Center joined other academic, industrial, and government sectors in the first Laguna Employment Summit 2019 held at the LLC Hall, Central II, Calamba City, Laguna on March 27. Aligned with the theme, “Working Towards a Responsive Employment Framework”, this initiative aimed to establish a framework that seeks to address the mismatch between industry needs and the quality and employability skills of jobseekers.
The Provincial Government of Laguna, through the Provincial Public Employment Office (PPESO) chose Dualtech Center to share the best practices in technical education and how it adapted the German model of education in delivering hands-on training to scholars from different parts of the country.
The close collaboration of Dualtech Center with more than a hundred companies paved the way for training program in the fields of electrical, mechanical and electronics united into what it calls, “Electromechanics Technology”
Discussed during the summit was the challenge the local government unit was facing in terms of improving the employability rate of Lagunenses despite series of job recruitment activities.

“The realizations achieved in this Summit are truly indispensable factors in the alleviation of our perennial issues on jobs- skills mismatch. We should also take into account the significance of inculcating to the minds of our would-be members of the workforce that their moral values and attitude, along with the 21st century skills are factors that employers are critically looking for” Mr. Henry John Jalbuena Regional Director of Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) IV- A said.
Dualtech partners present during the summit were Enchanted Kingdom, TRP, Daiwa Seiko, Artesyn Embedded, Asia Brewery, Tanduay Philippines, Ionics Philippines, EMD Technologies, Zenith Foods, Inc. among others.
