Dualtech and Ibiden Philippines visit Bohol communities for career talks and CSR initiatives supporting ALS teachers and learners

Dualtech Training Center, in partnership with Ibiden Philippines and the DepEd Bohol Division, has been actively supporting Alternative Learning System (ALS) teachers and learners in Bohol through laptop donations, career talks, and corporate social responsibility initiatives. These efforts, conducted in Tagbilaran City; Carmen; Dagohoy; Guindulman; Danao; Anda; Alburquerque; Trinidad; San Miguel; Antequera; Ubay, and Maribojoc, aim to enhance the teaching methods of ALS teachers and empower learners with career opportunities. All of which strengthen the connection between education and future employment for underserved communities.Dualtech Training Center visited DepEd Tagbilaran City Division for the turnover of laptop donations from Ibiden Philippines. The laptops were handed over to Dr. John Ariel A. Lagura, the Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, along with Ms. Elizabeth Rosil, Education Program Specialist II. These laptops will be used by the ALS (Alternative Learning System) teachers at the Community Learning Center to enhance their teaching delivery.ALS teachers often face challenges, especially with limited resources like teaching materials and technology. This donation of laptops allows teachers to integrate digital tools into their lessons, which can make learning more interactive and accessible for students.Aside from the donation, an important discussion on digital citizenship was held. Technology is very important in education and communication.

Following the donation, DepEd ALS Tagbilaran City organized a career orientation with Dualtech Training Center. The event provided ALS learners with information on Dualtech’s dual training system program. During the career talk, Ms. Bhing Rosil and Dr. Janet Butalid shared inspiring stories from their visit to Dualtech and highlighted the success of ALS and SHS learners from the city who have benefited from similar programs.

Such initiatives help bridge the gap between education and employment by equipping students with practical skills and knowledge for their future careers.The team also visited Carmen, Bohol, organized by the DepEd Bohol Division. The event was attended by a new group of scholars, their parents, local barangay officials, and various community groups.As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Ibiden Philippines donated two laptops to Alternative Learning System (ALS) teachers. Ibiden also shared a letter from Darel Mejorada, a Dualtech-Ibiden OJT scholar from Carmen, for his mother Josephine Mejorada. The mother expressed gratitude to Ibiden and Dualtech for keeping her updated on her son’s training progress.

Two Dualtech graduates, Joel Saniel and Angelito Aparicio, both ALS alumni from Carmen, shared how their training led them to successful careers. Joel, now a Calibration Supervisor, and Angelito, a Maintenance Technician, encouraged the community to consider the opportunities Dualtech offers, showing how the program transformed their lives.

Engr. Neil Radones from Ibiden also provided career guidance, urging attendees to pursue education at Dualtech and consider Ibiden as a future employer. Leonard Calma, Manager for Linkages, presented an overview of the Dualtech program and emphasized the strong partnership between Dualtech and Ibiden, extending beyond just training and OJT opportunities to CSR initiatives throughout the country.The team continue their outreach in Dagohoy, Bohol, to inspire local youth through career talk and corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities.Mr. Leonard Calma, Dualtech’s Manager for Linkages, expressed gratitude to the Dagohoy community for hosting the team for the second time this year. He noted that the previous visit with another industry partner, Murata, Inc. included a local recruitment activity. This time, Ibiden Philippines, donated two laptops for Alternative Learning System (ALS) teachers in Dagohoy.Atty. Raquel Ros from Ibiden Philippines Inc. (IPI) discussed career opportunities at IPI, emphasizing the stable career paths and growth potential within the company.Ms. Krisna De Sagun, a Logistics Specialist at Ibiden, highlighted Ibiden’s Labor Management Cooperation (LMC) activities, which include support for ALS teachers through laptop donations. She also presented a letter to the mother of James Villamor, a Dualtech scholar currently training at IPI, from her son.The career talk and CSR initiatives in Dagohoy, Bohol, reflect the commitment of Dualtech and Ibiden Philippines to support the communities in education and career development.The team extended their efforts to Guindulman Central Meeting Hall in Sawang Poblacion. This was part of a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative and also to conduct career talk and meet with the parents of a Dualtech scholar currently training at Ibiden Philippines Inc.

One of the event highlights was the story of Jefrey Berou, a Dualtech graduate who is now working in an international shipping company. Jefrey shared how Dualtech’s training opened up career opportunities and how it led him to his current career. He encouraged the students to consider Dualtech, even if it involves sacrifices and hard work.Representing Ibiden, Senior Engineer Neil Radones spoke about why he enjoys working at the company and shared a letter from a current trainee, Clarence Balaba addressed to the trainee’s parents. The parents expressed gratitude to both Dualtech and Ibiden for the opportunity given to their son.

During the event, Ibiden donated two laptops to Alternative Learning System (ALS) teachers as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity.

Atty. Racquel Ros, Executive Officer of Ibiden Philippines, addressed the students, encouraging them to take the opportunity of Dualtech’s scholarship program. She reminded them, “Just because you lack resources, doesn’t mean you should stop. Those who make sacrifices tend to live more successful lives.”

The event ended with Dr. Urbano M. Bernasor, Public School District Supervisor, presenting plaques of recognition to Dualtech and Ibiden for their support and partnership with DepEd Bohol.

Beyond Tagbilaran City, Carmen, Dagohoy, and Guindulman, Dualtech and Ibiden visited additional communities like Danao, Anda, and Alburquerque, donating laptops to ALS teachers. In Anda, Mayor Simacio, Angelina Blanco personally welcomed the guests.

A separate team from Dualtech conducted career talks in Trinidad, San Miguel, Antequera, Maribojoc, Carlos P. Garcia, and Ubay, further broadening the reach of this collaborative initiative.
