DSWD Occidental Mindoro Connects Dualtech with Local Communities to Bring Career Opportunities to Youth

For young people in local communities, finding the right path toward a stable career can be a challenge. To bring these opportunities closer to them, Dualtech Training Center conducted a series of community visits across Occidental Mindoro. In partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Dualtech introduced its training programs and shared opportunities for technical training, apprenticeship, and employment. The community visits began in San Jose, where the Dualtech team, together with DSWD Occidental Mindoro, met with local government officials to discuss the barangays included in the career talks and information campaign. A parent also shared her son’s experience as a Dualtech graduate who is now employed by the same company where he completed his in-plant training. His story showed how the program can help young people prepare for the workplace.

The team conducted career talks in Barangay Caminawit and Barangay Bagong Sikat, where parents, students, and 4Ps beneficiaries learned about the Electromechanics Technology program, hands-on industry experience, and opportunities for employment.The team then proceeded to Rizal, where they met with Mayor Ernesto C. Pablo Jr. to discuss possible coordination with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO). Career talks were also conducted in Barangay Rumbang and Barangay Adela.The group continued to Calintaan, where a courtesy visit to Mayor Eric Labrador was organized to provide updates on scholars from the province and discuss the possibility of having scholars from the municipality. A career talk was also conducted for interested students and their parents.The community outreach continued in Magsaysay, where Dualtech coordinated with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and conducted an orientation for parents, students, and 4Ps beneficiaries.The final stop was Sablayan, where the team met with the Municipal Administration and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation to discuss possible support for youth programs. The team also conducted an orientation for 4Ps beneficiaries from different barangays, introducing them to the Electromechanics Technology program and possible career opportunities.

Through these visits, Dualtech continues to strengthen its collaboration with DSWD, LGUs, PESO, LYDO, and local communities to reach more young people across Occidental Mindoro. By bringing information about technical training, apprenticeship, and employment opportunities directly to communities, Dualtech hopes to help more young people discover new possibilities and take their first steps toward a better career.
