Marubeni Foundation gave acknowledgment to the sets of scholars who completed their studies at Dualtech at SGV Building, Makati City on November 21, 2016.  The Annual Scholars Night was an opportunity in celebrating excellence in the challenging academic and training environment. The scholars were gathered for their diligence and hard work to be recognized. What could be more inspiring to see and hear the alumni shared stories of their struggles and how they survived.

The audience was motivated by the inspiring message of Dr.  Jose Sandejas. In a brief remark, Dr. Sandejas mentioned two advantages of a technical vocational education. First, graduates have a higher percentage of employment compared to those who finished university training. Second, while employed, he can study further.

Dualtech trainees and graduates joined the get-together. Mr. Cris Vergara, Dualtech alumnus shared how Marubeni Foundation helped him pursue the 2-Year Electromechanics Technology at Dualtech Binondo Manila. Studying while earning was his desire, and he saw it possible at Dualtech. Upon enrolment, Duatech offered him scholarship under Marubeni Foundation Inc. He shared, “I am so blessed. Thank you Marubeni Foundation for the financial support. Through your assistance, I was also able to help my family.” He graduated in 2008 and worked in different companies. In 2011, he moved to Dualtech and works now as an Industrial Coordinator.

As of 2016, Marubeni assisted over 300 scholars who are all gainfully employed.

The friendship between Dr. Sandejas and the Yulo family, was also instrumental in establishing Dualtech in Carmelray, Canlubang Calamba City 25 years ago. The Yulo’s wanted a school in Carmelray. Dr. Sandejas offered the mission and vision of Dualtech  to help educate the less fortunate by forming them as morally upright persons and contribute to the industry by educating people in the technical aspects as well. And by the scholarship given by Marubeni to many trainees of Dualtech, it helped change their lives.

Marubeni Scholarship Foundation Inc. was established on October 16, 1989. The Foundation targets to help the less-fortunate youth realize their dream of education. Dr. Sandejas was former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dualtech and now Vice President of Marubeni Scholarship Foundation.
