Celebrating 40 Years of Dualtech

Many have asked what could possibly be the next chapter for Dualtech. With Dualtech celebrating its 40^th founding anniversary, Dualtech President Mr. Arnold Morfe thinks we are past the “Ages” of Donors and presently in the Age of Partners. But we need to prepare for a new Age, which he identified below.

Dualtech successfully held its 40th Anniversary Celebrations last October 2022, with October 2 as its Foundation Day. The organizers designated the overall theme as “Developing Character through Work: Educating through Collaboration“. The morning mass for that day was celebrated by Dualtech chaplain, Fr. Jong Sabandal.

In his welcome remarks, the Executive Director Engr. Jerry Webb Muhi expressed admiration for the presentation showing the pioneering teams who established Dualtech in 1982. He exhorted every member of the school community to at least give justice to all the hard work back then. In order to put a personal touch to all efforts moving forward, he encouraged everyone to try out a little question on self reflection: “Are we the best that we can be on this day?”

Some Pinoy cocktails at mid-day, followed by a community lunch, served to kick off the main program of activities. Among the highlights of the day was a video presentation illustrating the evolution of Dualtech from the 1980s to the present. Another presentation generated laughter and introspection as it was a montage of greetings from Dualtech’s trainees, longtime employees (janitors, maintenance), Mentors, Staffs and Alumni. A heartfelt portion of the program was the “In Memoriam” video, which was a look back at Dualtech employees and members of the school family who has since passed away.

As mentioned at the start, Mr. Morfe identified what could be the road ahead for Dualtech. He explained that the school is past the Age of Donors which lasted from 1982 up to the 90’s. In his own words, “it’s not in the numbers yet but I still hope that … from the messages that I have heard from the alumni who are part of this family, we are off to a good start [to the Age of the Alumni.]” He explained the key to begin this phase: “the fuel for the Age of the alumni is the Age of us, the staff, who are truly grateful to be here in Dualtech, that it gets felt, let’s prepare for and launch the age of the Alumni through our joy and love and work…
