Rotary Club of Manila gives scholarship grants to trainees affected by Typhoon Odette

Dualtech Training Center, together with Rotary Club of Manila (RCM) awarded scholarships to Dualtech trainees through the RCManila Foundation, Inc. and RCM-Dualtech Scholarship Program last March 27, 2022 at the Dualtech Center campus in Canlubang, Laguna

Once again, RCM and Dualtech, through the efforts of the RCManila Foundation, Inc. and RCM-Dualtech Scholarship Program, held a simple yet meaningful event to award more scholarships to Dualtech trainees. The event was hosted by Antonilo Mauricio, Co-Chairman of the RCM-Dualtech Scholarship Program and Dualtech’s Executive Director, Jerry Muhi.

The event started with a few words from RCM-Dualtech Scholarship Program Chairman, Robert “Bobby” Joseph, Jr. – “We have a lot of good friends with big hearts today.” “Let us try to help out by getting more [sponsors].” Next was the opening remarks of RCManila Foundation Chairman, Herminio “Hermie” Esguerra – “We will keep the fire burning… we will continue our support for the Rotary (Club) and Dualtech Scholarship program.” “Kahit anong mangyari, naniniwala ako sa ginagawa niyo; the future scholars (of Dualtech) are in good hands”

On the part of Dualtech, its President, Arnolfo Morfe gave an update about those who have received their scholarships from RCM last year. He also added, “I can only imagine, what you have brought for these kids you have sponsored here, in their lives, in the future.” “I’m sure, your gift, is not only a gift for their pocket, but also for their hearts. So that, after the program, when they come up here on stage, they would present not only themselves, but (also) their families, who sustained (their training).” “They (trainees) have become a gift to society.”

Dualtech former chaplain Fr. Willy Ong added that his heart is left for the cause of Dualtech even after his chaplaincy. He continues to connect with current and former Dualtech scholars through social media. “I hope that there will really be more scholars… to help our workers and help our country.”

Dualtech President Arnolfo Morfe and Executive Director Jerry Muhi awarded certificates of donation to several Rotary Club members present for their generous contributions to the scholarship program.

Since December 2021, RCM, its officials, and friends have donated sponsorships for 30+ Dualtech trainees until March 2022. Through these events, RCM and Dualtech continue to promote their program to possible sponsors, to support more scholars. In this event, RCM and Dualtech awarded certificates of scholarship to 8 trainees from Bohol Province that were among those struck by super typhoon Odette last December 2021.
