Dualtech Expands Training and Community Partnerships in Eastern Visayas
Dualtech Training Center visited Eastern Visayas to strengthen existing partnerships, explore new collaborations, and introduce its programs to communities seeking opportunities for technical training and employment.
In Tacloban City, Dualtech met with the Streetlight Foundation to discuss its previous scholarship engagement. The partnership has produced graduates who are now pursuing careers in various fields. The foundation also offered the use of its facility for future Dualtech orientations in the area, providing a venue for prospective trainees and their families.
Dualtech also met with Sister Helen of Old Kawayan, who helped connect the team with local government officials and prospective students from the community. The meeting provided an opportunity to introduce the Dualtech program to students interested in technical training and employment opportunities.
Exploring Collaboration with DSWD Eastern Visayas
As endorsed by the DSWD Central Office, Dualtech paid a courtesy visit to the DSWD Regional Field Office VIII in Eastern Visayas to discuss potential collaboration in support of 4Ps beneficiaries.
Through the Regional Field Office, Dualtech also met with the Municipal/City Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) in Tacloban City to introduce its Dual Training System, which combines technical training with industry experience and provides trainees with opportunities to prepare for employment.
During the meeting, Dualtech shared the outcomes of its programs among trainees from Tacloban City and nearby communities since 2013. The discussions also opened opportunities for Dualtech to visit other municipalities in Eastern Visayas in coordination with their respective local government units and explore possible training and scholarship partnerships.
Supporting Digital Learning in Arteche
Together with Ibiden Philippines, Dualtech traveled to Arteche, Eastern Samar, to meet with local government officials and support the municipality’s education and smart community initiatives.
As part of the visit, Ibiden Philippines donated laptops to the municipality’s E-Library. The facility will support digital learning among students, particularly those with limited access to computers, internet connectivity, and other learning resources.
Through PESO, Arteche LGU also organized a career talk for prospective Dualtech trainees. Two graduating trainees and seven parents also attended the gathering and shared their experiences with the program. These trainees are part of the first batch of graduates under the Zero Poverty 2030 initiative, supported by the Lao Foundation. Some of the graduates have already received job offers following their training.
Building on the Arteche Partnership
Dualtech and Ibiden Philippines also visited the DSWD Provincial Field Office in Borongan City to provide updates on the collaboration with the Municipality of Arteche.
The discussion also explored possible engagement with the Provincial Office in reaching other municipalities that may be interested in partnering with Dualtech to provide training and employment opportunities for young people.
The Eastern Visayas visit highlighted the value of collaboration among training institutions, government agencies, local governments, foundations, and industry partners in supporting communities and creating career opportunities for the youth.
