Dualtech and Lao Foundation offers scholarships and skills training programs in Davao del Sur and North Cotabato

Dualtech Training Center, in partnership with Lao Foundation, Inc., continues its mission of expanding access to technical education by visiting partner cooperatives in Davao del Sur and North Cotabato. The initiative aims to promote scholarship opportunities and skills training for the youth, particularly children of farmers and cooperative members, as part of efforts to strengthen employability and support local communities.The team first visited partner cooperatives in Libungan and Makilala, North Cotabato, to promote training and scholarship opportunities for the youth. The group introduced the Lao Foundation scholarship program for children of coconut farmers and presented Dualtech’s training programs, followed by a career orientation session on technical career pathways.The sessions were attended by cooperative leaders, members, and their youth eligible for the scholarship program. Management of both cooperatives expressed appreciation for the visit and interest in supporting the program for their members.The group then visited cooperatives in Bansalan, Davao del Sur to promote scholarship opportunities and technical training for the youth. These included the Bansalan Coconut Farmers and Workers Multipurpose Cooperative, Bansalan Cooperative Society Multipurpose Cooperative, and Bagobo Tagabawa Fair-Trade Marketing Cooperative (BATAFAMA).Cooperative officers, students, parents, and community members attended the sessions. A parent of a current Dualtech student also shared the training experience to help others better understand the opportunity.The visits introduced the Dualtech and Lao Foundation training and scholarship program. The team emphasized how technical training can prepare youth for employment and help support their families. Through these visits, the partners continue collaborating with local cooperatives to expand access to technical education and practical career opportunities.
