Dualtech collaborates with DepEd and TESDA Cebu to Expand Training and Employment Opportunities for the learners
Dualtech Training Center continues to expand its reach in Cebu, connecting learners with industry-aligned technical programs and opportunities for employment. During the visits, the team highlighted pathways for both High School students and ALS learners to gain skills and access apprenticeship programs.
The team paid a courtesy visit to the DepEd Schools Division Office of Lapu-Lapu City, led by Schools Division Superintendent Marilyn S. Andales. During the meeting, the team presented its current program offerings, including success stories of former ALS scholars from Lapu-Lapu City who are now employed both locally and abroad.
The Division Office also arranged a Career Orientation Program at the Babag Senior High School Conference Hall for both formal school students and Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners. During the session, Dualtech introduced its training opportunities and industry-linked programs to guide learners toward viable employment pathways.
The opportunity for learners to undergo apprenticeship training in Cebu was also highlighted, as many industry partners have expanded their operations in the area, providing more accessible employment opportunities.
Dualtech team also collaborated with the EBET program to encourage more enterprises to participate in the apprenticeship program, aiming to provide students and trainees with better opportunities to develop practical skills and gain industry experience. The activity was conducted in coordination with TESDA Region VII and the TESDA Provincial Office of Cebu, highlighting the importance of regional and provincial support in strengthening technical-vocational training initiatives.
During the visit, several priority qualifications were identified, including Mechatronics Servicing, Electrical Installation and Maintenance, Machining, and other skills listed in TESDA’s regional priority areas. These qualifications are considered essential for meeting local industry demands while supporting students’ career development.
A representative from the Department of Education Lapu-Lapu City Division also joined the visit, observing the engagement between the Dualtech team, EBET program coordinators, and local enterprises. This collaboration strengthened the connection between educational institutions, government agencies, and industry partners, leading to more apprenticeship placements and providing students with opportunities to acquire the skills needed in the regional labor market.
The team then paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Senen Priscilo P. Paulin, Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) of DepEd Cebu Province, to coordinate training programs.
The team was welcomed by the Education Program Specialists (EPS), who provided updates on Dualtech scholars currently in training as well as those who have already graduated. The learners come from Barili, Malabuyoc, Badian, and Moalboal, demonstrating the program’s reach across multiple municipalities.
During the visit, Dualtech presented the Electromechanics (EM) course and the apprenticeship program, including how students can connect with industry partners.
Dualtech also shared that Ibiden Philippines will donate laptops to Alternative Learning System (ALS) teachers in selected municipalities to support teaching and learning. This is part of ongoing efforts by Dualtech and its partners to support both formal and non-formal education through program resources and guidance.
Through these engagements, Dualtech reaffirmed its commitment to supporting learners across school-based and alternative learning programs. By linking students with apprenticeship opportunities, industry partners, and essential learning resources, Dualtech empowers Filipino youth to develop technical skills, pursue careers, and contribute positively to their communities.
