Dualtech Center reaches more communities and scholars in Mindanao
In its ongoing mission to reach more youth and promote practical, values-based education, Dualtech Center visited several areas in Mindanao—including Davao City, Tagum, Bunawan, and Butuan. The visit was filled with engagements, including participation in a career expo and the introduction of the Electromechanics Technology Program to local communities. These activities created opportunities that could help more youth access practical, values-based technical education.
The team first visited Tagum City, Davao, to participate in the two-day Career Expo, organized by the Public Employment Services and Capability Development Office (PESCDO), in partnership with the Department of Education, higher education institutions, and the Guidance Counselors Association of Tagum.
Many senior high school students joined the event, where Dualtech presented its Electromechanics Technology Program, which offers a foundation in technical skills and values formation as a practical career option for the youth. Ms. Christine Mae M. San Juan, PESO Manager, expressed her appreciation to the Dualtech team after learning that more than 10 students from Tagum are currently enrolled, with some having already graduated from the program.
Representatives from the Dualtech Center team also visited the municipality of Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, to introduce its Electromechanics Technology Program. During the visit, the team met with Mr. Marvin B. Mique, the Municipal Administrator who expressed his support, saying the initiative would be very helpful to the youth of Bunawan.
The team also met with Engr. Robert Floyd Salise, the Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator. Engr. Salise expressed his appreciation for the Dualtech program, as he believes it could benefit the youth and unemployed in the community. He believes the program could open new career opportunities for these scholars once they graduate.
The group also conducted a courtesy visit to Caraga State University in Butuan City and to Cabadbaran City in Agusan del Norte to introduce and promote its one-year Electromechanics Technology Program. This specialized technical course is designed to equip learners—including those from non-technical backgrounds—with industry-relevant skills through practical, hands-on training and values formation, significantly enhancing their employability.
University officials expressed interest in the program and in exploring future collaboration, particularly in the areas of internship placements and technical training opportunities for their students and alumni. This initiative represents a significant step toward aligning academic education with industry demands, providing graduates with a practical pathway from learning to employment.
The series of visits across Mindanao highlights Dualtech Center’s continued commitment to empowering the youth through technical education and values formation. By reaching out to new communities, Dualtech hopes to open more opportunities for youth—especially those from the provinces—to gain skills and build a better future for themselves, their families, and their communities.
