Dualtech Alumnus among TESDA Idols

i-palmadoDualtech alumnus, Mr. Ibrahim "Bryan" Palmado, represented TESDA Region IV-A (CALABARZON) as TESDA Idol in TESDA’s recent Institutional Awards ceremony during its 24th Anniversary in Taguig City. The recognition is given to Tech-Voc graduates who have attained success and excellence in their chosen occupation that contributed social impact to their respective communities.

In the category of the Wage-Employed, Bryan together with other finalists competed for the National Level. The screening was tough as there were many success stories from various TESDA Regional Offices. "The moment I started this journey, everyday is full of challenges and excitement. There was a moment of giving up due to difficulty in furnishing needed requirements in a short period of time.  I was grateful having Ms. Imee Sigua (Region 4A focal person) for helping me move forward and deliver an unexpected result." Bryan was nominated through TESDA Laguna Provincial and Regional IV-A Offices under the trade area in Electromechanics Technology.

Being a product of a program that provided the stepping stone to his current position now, he witnessed himself the greater opportunities and need for workers who have taken the course in Electromechanics Technology. He shared, "There is a high demand for a multi-tasking individual to be part of a very competitive organization. Electromechanic technology is one of the top multi-skill programs that really fits in the industry." In this program, the students take trade skills in Electrical, Mechanical, and Electronics. And having been enrolled in the Dual Training System (DTS) program that was pioneered by Dualtech Center in the Philippines, the students are trained by seasoned experts in various partner companies that make them the preferred candidates to akey technical positions.

Bryan's story captured the interest of TESDA which selected him also to be among the graduates to be featured in its advocacy promotional materials. "I am blessed for having this opportunity. I am very thankful to TESDA for considering my story of success as promotional material for Techvoc in National level. Likewise, to Dualtech Center for the trust and confidence in nominating me to TESDA." The video will be used by TESDA Regional and Provincial Offices to attract many Filipinos to consider a career in technical and vocational education. "Honestly, I am still in a process of digesting this recognition and very thankful for making this achievement possible", he adds.

"To all youth and students, having nothing but a dream and perseverance.. never ever hesitate to reach your goal because of your present situation. I have been there before and I believe you can make it as well." This is his words of advice for young individuals who wish to change their lives through the same training he undergone at Dualtech Center.

Bryan works now as Senior Engineer in BAG Electronics in Binan City.
