Tougher in Life
“These experiences made us true scholars. Experiences that taught us to be patient, to stand on our own, to be more responsible in making decisions, and to be closer to God. These two years made us tougher in life not only mentally but also spiritually...” -- Mark Anthony R. Lopez, Gold Merit Awardee | Trained at Franke Foodservice System Philippines, Inc.; Employed at Sasonbi, Inc.
It is my duty to extend my deepest gratitude and appreciation to my Alma Mater for the past 2 years of my life which molded me to become who am I today. It is my sincerest gratitude and appreciation to all concerned who in one way or the other served as God’s instrument for the success I and batch mates achieved.
A graduation ceremony is an event where the commencement speaker tells thousands of students dressed in identical caps and gowns that “individuality” is the key to success. It is indeed a unique and once in a lifetime experience worthy of being immortalized in our memorabilia. It is also a culmination wherein all our hard works, sacrifices, faith and more so our glorious moments, triumphs that we’ve been through and victories are greatly rewarded.
I came from Municipality of San Mateo, Province of Rizal where urbanization is the lifestyle. My mother is a street vendor and my father is a laborer. I am second to the eldest and we are six siblings.
“You spend time in school to gain knowledge, and that is the only thing your Papa will remain in you.” My Lola always reminded me this advice when I first entered the war of learning and education. My loving Lola told me to finish school and to find a right job.
“Everything happens for a reason”.
Time passed at Dualtech, I was already closed to each one and simply started chatting to anybody. Who would forget having to finish our work pieces on time and to make them the best we could to have a good grade, to get the correct measurement of work pieces that are given to us, to connect wires correctly and to ring the buzzer before the timer stops, to analyze diagrams and to apply them in actual circuits, to light the lamps and fluorescent as fast as we can so as not to cause explosions of contactors because of wrong wire connections, to get burn after welding activities, to bend pipes and get its angle correctly, to learn best of all many things about faith in God. To offer sacrifices and mortification by enduring the hunger and to attend Holy mass first before eating lunch. These experiences made us true scholars. Experiences that taught us to be patient, to stand on our own, to be more responsible in making decisions, and to be closer to God. These two years made us tougher in life not only mentally but also spiritually. I learned the importance of attending mass and be part of it and that of offering my work to God. These experiences mean a lot to me.
It has been a long journey spending our days at school and in the company training for the past two years that build us to become quality trained, skilled, productive, enlightened and morally upright worker for our professional stage of life. There would be an end to school days, to the lectures, an end on demerits, to the reminders on haircut, to the reminders to study hard or attend mass. Some may become happy thinking of an end to these reminders that can irritate a young adult so much. But let us admit to ourselves that were it not for these rules and reminders we would not have become more disciplined and responsible person. Time will come we are going to thank them to all their help in making us who we are now.
To think from a piece of scrap newspaper now receiving my diploma, we should thank God for this achievement and for giving us the opportunity to study and finish our course at Dualtech Center.
To the school administration and staff under the leadership of our Executive Director, who over-extended their service and assistance in so many ways. To our highly qualified Facilitators, Coordinators, Coaches and Mentors who unselfishly, unceasingly, and untiringly molded each one of us taking in consideration our lacks, mistakes, and bounds and taught us the appropriate moral values and virtues in accordance to the teaching of God. Thank you very much Sir for the love, care and support you gave to me as your student and as your child. May you continue to share your knowledge and wisdom to the youth who is the hope of the future. Let us give them a round of applause.
To all the Benefactors and friends of Dualtech most especially to Mr. Jack & Mrs. Amor Hebster for helping and supporting the financial and spiritual needs of the young people including me who are not able to go to school because of lack of financial capabilities, may God bless you Ma’am and Sir and I will always remember about you who taught us in spending money wisely, also to the Marubeni Foundation, Inc. who in other way helps to me to fulfill my education.
To my supportive Tita Lolit, family and relatives, who are from the very first start financing my education and needs, a BIG THANKS to all of you.
Most of all, to our Lord God, for giving us a chance to spend our days here in Dualtech. You never leave us O Lord instead you lead us all graduates today to the success we now reaping from your mercy. May You always be with us and lead us O Lord in accordance to your Faith, Hope, and charity in our hearts and mind.
As a final word, we are about to face the new chapter in life a journey towards our successes. I hope that someday, we will come back to the place we’ve come from and shared and cherished memories once more as friends as we become successful in the near future. I hope all of us the best of luck as we venture towards the future. I hope and pray after all the challenges and struggles that we have to overcome and surpass, we will still be seeing each other again in Alumni homecomings in our esteem school. I am hopeful and certain that everyone achieved our battle cry. “Work as a Virtuous Man” and this is something Dualtech Center, our parents, and ourselves will be proud of.
