A Rugged Road To Success
The road to success is sometimes bumpy and rugged. Trials and twists of things happen unexpectedly. We only need to believe in ourselves. You and I are called for to be the agents of change. The next coming years may be filled with excitement, new adventures and even failures. But always remember that this failure should be a source of learning and are a precursor of success. The world after this institution here in Dualtech is filled with infinite possibilities and opportunities awaiting us. Make use of what we learned here in Dualtech and during our in plant training and expand our horizon through experience. -- LAFLORES, JAYSON B. | Silver Merit and Outstanding In-Plant Training Performance Awardee, Trained at Nestle Philippines, Inc. | Employed at Magnate Food and Drinks
I came from Tayabas City, Quezon Province. My mother is a house keeper and my father is a farmer. I am second to the eldest and we are four siblings in the family. Harvesting rice is our source of daily needs. Working in a whole day in the farm were not easy for us either maghapong bilad sa initan ay maghapong nasa ulanan.
Before I finished my studies in high school, I asked myself where should I go? How should I continue my studies in college? The earnings from the farm are not enough to support our daily needs especially our studies. But God answered my prayers, buti na lang pumunta si Mr. Sta Ana sa school namin sa Luis Palad at doon ko nakilala ang DUALTECH. I was so glad that I would continue pursuing my studies at Dualtech. It was hard for me to leave my family in Quezon but I have to do it for our future.
June 3, 2013, I started at Dualtech as a regular student. In the first day, I felt bored dahil siguro maraming ipinagbabawal, lahat kami puro lalaki kasi ibang iba ang culture as compared during my high school life. As time went by, it had become full of excitement and challenges dahil maraming bagay na first time ko lang nalaman at na experience in my whole life. First time kong maging server and reader for the Mass and I was amazed dahil every day may daily Mass ang Dualtech. It was my first time to operate Lathe, Milling and Grinding Machines also the other equipment in the technical aspects.
I spent my 18 months of OJT in Nestle Philippines, located in Lipa Batangas. I applied the technical skills that I learned in Dualtech and most especially the virtues. My training during OJT was very hard for me but I must continue my training because I know that these sacrifices were for my family to provide our daily needs. I knew that the sacrifices is a way to holiness by offering to God through sanctification of work that was taught to us by the founder of Opus Dei; St. Jose Maria Escriva.
