Phimco values the partnership with Dualtech as a way of helping  the poor but deserving students in the community. We consider their employment a responsibility, a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility.

Phimco would like to thank Dualtech for their continued confidence and we commit to continue with this partnership."

-- Mr. Rodrigo Ortiz, Business Development Manager of Phimco

Phimco’s Partnership with Dualtech started on May 11, 1993 with an initial seven (7) DTS In-Plant trainees.

During the 18 months  In-Plant training at Phimco, the Engineering Superintendent serves as the Training Coordinator  who prepares the training schedule and lists down the different activities for the training period, duration, and distribution of the student–trainees in the different departments where training is deemed necessary.  The In-plant training provides both the practical and theoretical component of the training.

The Company provides the student-trainees free training materials, technical literature, tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) for the duration of the training.  The Company also provides them with benefits normally given only to regular employees. For those living far from the factory which is located  in Punta, Sta. Ana, Manila, the Company provides a dormitory where accommodation is free of charge.

The Training Coordinator provides regular feedback on the performance of the trainees which is reported to the HR Manager. These include attendance, work attitude and skills development.  During the monthly visit of the Dualtech Coordinator, these are reported to him, while the DTS Coordinator informs the HR Manager on the performance of the trainees while in school.  In cases where there are problems observed, both the DTS Coordinator and the HR Manager work closely to assist the subject student-trainee. There were lots of cases especially family problems (lack of support by parents)  which were addressed because of this system of good coordination  and commitment by both parties, the DTS and our HR department.

Since 2006, the HR Manager ensures that a regular meeting for even 15 minutes is held twice a month with student-trainees to listen to their concerns and at the same time appraise them of their performance both in the areas of technical training and work attitude.  Strict Compliance to Phimco’s Rules and regulations is being monitored  for all trainees which in turn developed them into disciplined individual once they become employed.

Since 1993, up to the present , the company has accepted more than a hundred Dualtech trainees.  In the last 5 years, we have hired 90% of our former trainees.  However, because  of the demand for their skills both in the local and overseas market, some have work abroad.  As of today, we have 20 regular employees who are Dualtech graduates. They are assigned in critical technical positions in the plant such as Printing Technician, Machinist/Fabricators, Plant Electricians, Line Mechanics , QA Analyst and Warehouseman.

In hiring Dualtech graduates, the company is assured that we absorbed not only the young and technically skilled employees, but above all the spiritual and proper work values they possessed.

Phimco values the partnership with Dualtech as a way of helping  the poor but deserving students in the community. We consider their employment a responsibility, a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility.

Phimco would like to thank Dualtech for their continued confidence and we commit to continue with this partnership.
