Our
History |
| Dualtech started in Manila in 1982 as a social
development project to help alleviate the widespread poverty
in the Philippines through vocational education and training
programs adapting the German Dual Training
System to local conditions. In 1991, a similar project was
initiated in Canlubang, an agricultural estate turned into industrial
use in the town of Calamba in the province of Laguna, located
south of Manila which mission is stated above. |

| What we do? |
- We train:
- High-school graduates to be employed by partners
- Industrial workers sent to be upgraded or re-trained
- Supervisors and engineers to be equipped as trainers
- We partner with:
- Over 100 manufacturing and service companies
- More than 300 high schools who refer trainees
- Friends and Foundations
who provide help
- We help reduce poverty:
- As we enroll boys from poor families
- Provide scholarship or assistance
- Get graduates employed
- We ask people and firms to cooperate:
- We adopt Dual Training:
- Two learning venues: School and Industry
- Training Plan jointly developed by Dualtech and Partner
- Course run for 24 months, the first 6 months in-school,
the next
- 18 months 1 day in-school, 5 days in the factory
- We emphasize Personal Formation:
- Tutors talk to every boy every month about life and
all he learns
- Advisers are assigned to classes to assist in their
academic need
- Our chaplains come to say Holy Mass and hear confessions
- We accept for enrollment:
- 100 trainees every month, 50 in each school,
- Single male students, 16-22 years of age, passed high
school
- Qualified through written examination and interview
- Had parents or guardians visit the admission office
